How to create a Google My Business account

To create a Google My Business account (now called Google Business Profile), follow these steps:

Go to Google Business Profile:

  • Go to the Google Business Profile website.
  • Click Manage now to get started.

Sign in to your Google account:

  • If you are not already signed in, you will be prompted to sign in with a Google account (the one you want to use to manage your business).

Enter your business name:

Type your business name. If it already appears, Google may have already listed your business. If the business does not exist yet, click Add your business to Google.

Choose your business category:

  • Select the business category most relevant to your activity (for example, restaurant, hair salon, etc.).
  • This helps Google correctly classify your business in local search.

Choose whether you have a physical location:

  • If your business has a physical location where customers can visit (such as a store or office), select Yes. You will need to enter the full address.
  • If you offer services without a fixed address (for example, a delivery company or home services), select No.

Add your service area (if applicable):

  • If you offer services in a specific geographic area (such as a cleaning company or delivery service), you can specify the areas where you operate.

Enter your contact details:

  • Phone number: Provide a phone number that customers can use to contact you.
  • Website: Enter your website URL if you have one. Otherwise, you can choose the “I don't have a website” option.

Finish setting up your listing:

  • You can choose to enable notifications to stay informed of important updates about your profile.

Verify your business:

  • Google will ask you to verify your business to confirm that you are the owner or manager. There are several verification methods:
    • By postcard: Google will send a postcard to your address with a verification code (this usually takes 5 days).
    • By phone or email (if available).
  • Once you receive the verification code, enter it in your Google My Business account to confirm.

Complete your listing information:

  • After verification, you can complete your business listing by adding additional information:
    • Opening hours.
    • Photos of your business.
    • Description of your services or products.
    • Other useful information for customers.

Publish your listing:

  • Once all information has been added and verified, your listing will be visible in Google search results and on Google Maps.

How to add a partner agency

Go to your Google My Business account:

  • Sign in to your Google Business Profile with your Google account.

Go to user management:

  • Once signed in, choose the business or location you want to manage.
  • In your business dashboard, click the three-line menu (in the upper left corner).
  • Select Users from the menu.

Add a partner agency:

  • In the users window, you will see a list of people who already have access to your listing.
  • Click the Add users icon in the upper right corner (represented by an icon with a "+" and a person).
  • A pop-up window appears asking you to enter the email address of the person or agency you want to add.

Choose the agency's role:

  • You will need to choose a role for the partner agency. Here are the options:
    • Owner: Has full access to the listing (can add or remove users, edit information, etc.).
    • Manager: Can manage the listing (add information, reply to reviews, but cannot manage users).
    • Site manager: Has more limited permissions than the manager (can manage certain information, but with less control).
  • It is recommended to grant the Manager role to an agency so it can effectively manage your profile without full ownership.

Send the invitation:

  • Once the role is selected, click Invite.
  • The partner agency will receive an email containing an invitation to access your business profile.

The agency accepts the invitation:

  • The agency must accept the invitation by clicking the link provided in the email.
  • Once accepted, the agency will have the permissions you assigned and will be able to manage your listing.

Manage and change roles:

  • If you later want to change or revoke the agency's access, you can return to the Users section and adjust roles or remove users.
